Boone's premier fly fishing outfitter partnered with Wild Fly Productions to bring their story to screen. A return to the waters that started it all.
In the spring of 2024, Scottie Finanger (founder of Wild Fly Productions), came home to Boone where his fly fishing and filmmaking journey first began. There, he teamed up with Max Beck, owner of Due South Outfitters and fellow Appalachian State alum, to explore the creeks, hidden headwaters, and cliff-lined waterways of the High Country.
What came out of this trip wasn't just a road trip film, but atrue homecoming. A fresh look at fly fishing, friendship, and the quiet rhythms of a place that raised them both. The film premiered at the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country in February 2025 and has since been featured on Sports Illustrated's fishing vertical.
